the backstory

The first year Josh and I hosted Thanksgiving, I wanted to include a touch of reflection on a day that can often run at a feverish pace. Between strategic turkey timing, making sure the toilet bowls are clean, and securing “Aunt Manda’s Pretties” so my siblings might truly relax instead of chasing their children around my decorated-without-children-living-here home, actually feeling gratitude can be a bit rushed. So, the Gratitude Map was born. A few questions designed on a half-page card were placed on each plate. There were no formalities – it was simply an invitation to pause and be present. Some took their cards with them, others left them behind, and I collected them as souvenirs of a holiday well-celebrated. I revisit them each year when I prepare to design the upcoming edition of the Gratitude Map, taking in the moments and memories that make this life so full.

2023 edition

This year’s edition is designed to touch on each area of life – people, experiences, highs and lows – as well as get your mind ready for the holiday season ahead.

P.S. – If you incorporate a gratitude map into your holiday tradition, I would love to see it! Please feel free to DM me or tag me in your photos.
